― INSTALLATION & SETUP ―

The AquaVerde® UV30™ is installed directly on the home's main water line, treating water before it's distributed throughout the property.

Where it goes

  • Last treatment step on the cold main line: sediment pre-filter, then conditioner or softener, then cartridge filtration, then the UV30.
  • Indoors, dry, easy to reach and protected from freezing.
  • Horizontal or vertical. If vertical, keep the lamp connector at the top.
  • Leave at least 22 in (56 cm) of free space at the lamp end for service.
  • A grounded, GFCI-protected outlet within reach of the ballast cord.

Installation

  1. Wearing clean gloves, wipe the quartz sleeve and fit it into the chamber with one O-ring at each end. Tighten both end nuts by hand only.
  2. Close the main water supply. Fix the two mounting clamps to the wall and snap the chamber into them.
  3. Connect the inlet and outlet with 1 in fittings.
  4. Mount the ballast on the wall above the chamber and leave a drip loop in each cable.
  5. Open the water supply slowly and check both end nuts and both pipe connections for leaks.
  6. With the ballast unplugged, connect the lamp, slide it into the sleeve and fit the cover cap.
  7. Run a cold tap for 3 to 5 minutes, then plug the ballast in. Never look at a lit UV lamp.

Maintenance

  • Replace the UV lamp every 12 months (about 8,000 hours). Lamp type: GPH436T5L/HO, 48 W, 4-pin.
  • Clean the quartz sleeve every 3–6 months, sooner with hard or iron-bearing water.
  • Unplug the ballast before any service. Recycle used lamps; they contain mercury.

Professional installation by a licensed plumber or qualified water treatment professional is recommended.
